My current Paleo Smoothie recipe- excerpt from "Paleo Quick Start"

The Paleo Smoothie
This is really a lynch pin of this book!  The Paleo Smoothie is not only incredibly convenient, it is also very tasty, filling, and fast and easy!
This one piece of information is worth more than the cost of this book.
If you do only one “Paleo” idea, this will give you such a jump-start, that you won’t even recognize yourself after a few months.  This is also a great time saver- use it as a total breakfast, lunch, or both!
After you drink a Paleo Smoothie, you will be so satisfied, both hunger-wise and nutrient-wise, that the rest of the day’s eating will be...
optional!
Here is a Paleo Smoothie, just before blending:
Doesn’t that look yummy?
It truly is!
And the nutrients are “off the charts” for what your body needs!!

Quick Paleo Smoothie ingredients list:
My current recipe- variations are not only possible, but encouraged!  But the base outlined here is very representative of a transformative replacement meal/ultimate real food supplement in one tasty drink!
Coconut Milk- 1 can
Carlson’s or Nordic Naturals Cod liver oil- 1 Tablespoon
Powdered kelp- 1 teaspoon
Unsweetened almond milk- 1/4 cup
Unsweetened kefir- 1/4 cup
Organic, unsweetened lemon juice- 1 teaspoon
Apple cider vinegar- 1 teaspoon
1-2 cups of green tea
Frozen spinach- approximately 1 cup
Frozen mixed “California Mix” vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots), ~1 cup
Frozen mixed berries- blueberries, raspberries, strawberries- 1 cup
1/2 banana (I freeze mine so they don’t over-ripen)
1 peeled orange
  • That’s it!  You can also “mix and match” with fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables you have on hand- cranberries are a favorite of mine, as is liquid vitamin D in the Winter months!
I also recommend here that you buy a Vitamix brand high speed blender!  This appliance will liquify pretty much whatever you throw into it, and will last virtually forever!
New or used- get yourself a Vitamix as soon as possible-
You can eat paleo without it, but it’s a LOT harder!

Metabolic syndrome

It is likely that the metabolic syndrome may extend to other chronic illnesses and conditions that are widely prevalent in Western societies, including: myopia (80), acne (81), gout (79), polycystic ovary syndrome, epithelial cell cancers (breast, colon, and prostate), male vertex balding, skin tags and acanthosis nigricans
