Play and Enjoyment of Life for Health!

I know, it seems obvious doesn't it, but it is so important that we take the time to enjoy life; not only for the immediate enjoyment itself, but for the benefit of our own health!

It is so easy to get caught up in work, obligations, and other things that seem important, but, in the final analysis, aren't.  I know that Mark Sisson of Mark's Daily Apple talks often about the importance of play; he enjoys a weekly dose of Ultimate Frisbee, and that sounds great, but I think the term play deserves a much wider definition!

The great play I have had with my dog Charlie was restorative for us both, and it didn't result in a winner or a loser... I even see my morning, ritualistic workouts of visualized and body weight resistance as a form of enjoyable play.  When I get together with family and friends for a backyard campfire, that is indeed highly enjoyable play, as is throwing little toys around for my cats!

And of course, let's not forget about things like playing a board game, or playing guitar- to my mind,
making music is one of the ultimate forms of play!

The main thing about playing is that we make some time for it, each and every day!!
